Health & Safety 2022 OHS Honours Award Gala Globe and Mail Centre

The team at Linamar celebrates after winning Honourable Mention in two categories at the OHS Honours gala in Toronto on Sept. 15.

More than 200 professionals from across Canada gathered at the Globe & Mail Centre in Toronto on Sept. 15 for the first-ever OHS Honours and Psychologically Safe Workplace Awards gala.

The awards, presented by OHS Canada and Talent Canada — the nation’s leading workplace media brands — celebrated the best in workplace safety practices.

“We were blown away not just by the quantity of nominations, with judges having to sift more than 150 applications, but also the quality,” said Todd Humber, senior editor for Talent Canada and OHS Canada.

But the night is about more than just celebrating winners, he said.

“It’s about sharing their stories, so all organizations from across the country can learn from these industry leaders,” said Humber.

Over the past few weeks, OHS Canada sat down with all the winners for one-on-one interviews to tell the stories behind the nominations. The stories are all live now on OHS Canada’s website, and the winners of the Psychologically Safe Workplace Awards will be profiled on Talent Canada’s website in the coming weeks.

“We’re proud of this program, and we thank our sponsors who made it possible and the professionals for taking the time to complete nominations and travel to celebrate with us in Toronto,” he said.

Nominations for the 2023 OHS Honours program will open in January. As always, there will be no nomination fee to apply.
