Pittsburgh, PA – Industrial Scientific, the world’s leading provider of Gas Detection as a Service, has been certified to the ISO14001:2004 standard. The standard focuses on how an organization manages its environmental impact and improves its environmental performance.

Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI), accredited registrar for companies throughout the world, issued the certificate following a five-day audit. Throughout the audit, Industrial Scientific demonstrated compliance with environmental laws and regulations. In addition, the company also exhibited a systematic approach to setting environmental objectives and targets. This certification validates Industrial Scientific’s commitment to “green” initiatives and corporate responsibility.

Achieving certification has many benefits for employees, management, customers, and the community. Industrial Scientific can now provide assurance to any interested party on environmental issues, as well as compliance with environmental laws and regulations. The certification supports the organizations established environmental policy and waste recycling program that manages the reuse of electronic equipment, post-consumer recyclable materials and hazardous waste.

Industrial Scientific also achieved renewal of its ISO9001 certificate to the updated 2008 revision. Industrial Scientific has held the certification of ISO 9001 since 1994, and was the first U.S. manufacturer of gas monitors to receive the esteemed certification. The Corporation’s Management System has been registered as compliant with both International Standards, which focus on environment, quality, and customer satisfaction.
