Toronto, ON — Hundreds of posters were purchased and displayed throughout all Bell Canada buildings in Ontario and Quebec, announcing the up-coming events.
14 Health and Safety Committees that cover Bell Canadas clerical and associated employees, planned and tailored the events according to their locations, producing a variety of excellent information sharing and educational activities. Education was certainly the key component here! Professionals shared their knowledge and expertise, ranging from the fields of chiropractic, naturopathy, acupuncture, reflexology, nutrition specialists, and fitness centres. Groups such as CNIB, Canadian Hearing Society, Rescue 7, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, and Warren Sheppell were available to answer questions and provide information to Bell Canada employees. Product samples were available in many of the 60 locations, prizes were awarded for the submission of health and safety slogans, or ideas for future events, thereby encouraging participation and heightening awareness. Approximately 7000 employees took part in the week long celebration for NAOSH week 2005. Plans are already in place for celebrating 2006.
