PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Business Times recently named Industrial Scientific Corporation one of the region’s 50 largest privately held companies in its Book of Lists. Published annually, the list was compiled based on 2004 revenue, which showed a seven percent increase for the gas detection equipment manufacturer over the prior year.

In a market segment that grew between three and five percent last year, Industrial Scientific’s performance clearly demonstrates the company’s ability to retain its customer base, while simultaneously increasing its market share.

“Industrial Scientific’s growth is the result of our adherence to philosophies and principles that have guided us since the company’s founding 20 years ago,” said Kent McElhattan, Industrial Scientific President and CEO. “It’s all based on doing the right things for the right reasons, and treating others the way that you want to be treated. That mindset is evident in everything that we do. From research and development to manufacturing and final testing, we never lose sight of the fact that our customers are counting on us to protect their lives,” he added.

Industrial Scientific Corporation is a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of gas monitoring instruments, systems and other technical products for the preservation of life and property. The company has headquarters in Oakdale, Pa. and 30 regional offices throughout the world. For more information, contact Industrial Scientific by phone at 1-800-338-3287 or log on to www.indsci.com.
