Business/Teams category will honour nation's safest companies

OHS Canada’s popular awards programming is back for 2022, and bigger than ever — culminating in a live gala celebration in September.
Nominations are now open for the media brand’s popular Top 10 Under 40 program and our freshly expanded OHS Canada Honours awards, which will now honour businesses and OHS teams with four new categories. There is no nomination fee for any of the awards.
“Since 2020, our awards program has seen high numbers of nominations from across the country, making for some tough decisions by our judging panel,” says Todd Humber, group publisher of OHS Canada.
“It’s been great to see how well-received this program has been over the years.”
The nomination deadline for this year’s awards is May 31, 2022. Winners will be featured in the fall issue of OHS Canada magazine and celebrated on Sept. 15, 2022, at the Globe and Mail Centre in downtown Toronto.
OHS Canada Honours
The importance of OHS professionals is on display through the COVID-19 pandemic, and we want to acknowledge the best and brightest in the field.
Launched in 2021, OHS Canada Honours recognizes the achievements of Canadian OHS workers in three categories:
- OHS Professional of the Year
- Community Leader Award
- Hall of Fame (3 inductees to be announced in 2022)
This year, OHS Canada has added a Business/Teams category, where we aim to recognize companies.
These awards will honour the best in class in the following four categories:
- OHS Culture Award
- Best Safety Communications Program
- Best Use of Safety Technology
- OHS Team of the Year
Top 10 Under 40
OHS Canada’s Top 10 Under 40 recognizes the achievements of the newest generation of Canadian OHS workers. Young and skilled professionals are driving the safety profession forward, and we want to acknowledge the best and brightest.
Anyone in an OH&S position with a Canadian company who is under the age of 40 as of Dec. 31, 2022 is eligible for this award. Strong work ethics, leadership by example and dedication to health and safety will all be acknowledged.
Gala celebration
OHS Canada is teaming up with our sister publication Talent Canada for the biggest night of the year in health and safety. OHS Honours are being co-located with the Psychologically Safe Workplace Awards. This will be a can’t-miss celebration of the best practices in safety across the country.
