Calgary police have charged a man after a paramedic was struck by a vehicle while responding to an emergency call.

The paramedic continued to help his patient and was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the paramedic was loading equipment and preparing to transport a patient when he was hit by a Mercedes-Benz sedan, which then drove away.

Kenneth Muraweski is charged with one count of failing to stop at the scene of an accident that involved bodily harm.
