Worker, 35, killed while dismantling crane at business in Ontario

INNISFIL, Ont. – Police say a worker has died in an industrial accident in Innisfil, Ont., north of Toronto.

South Simcoe Police say a worker at a business on Highway 89 was dismantling a piece of an old crane on Wednesday morning when a section of metal fell and struck him. They say the 35-year-old Innisfil man died of his injuries.

Police, the Ministry of Labour and the coroner are conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances of the accident.

The man’s name is not being released at the request of his family.
