Smithfield, RI (March 2011) – Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is Sperian Protection’s expertise; their core focus is creating solutions that improve protection and comfort with the motive to encourage people to be more compliant with safety rules. However, if the use of PPE is not facilitated and PPE is not consistently used as intended, people’s safety is still at risk.

In an effort to provide recognition to safety management and to encourage the use of PPE, Sperian Protection partnered with key clients Baker Concrete and Total E&P France to launch the ‘Making Safety Personal’ video series.

The videos focus on the role of safety management in challenging work environments: the Orange Line, an elevated railway at Miami International airport and natural gas extraction in Lacq, France. The videos showcase the human aspect of safety management and the necessity of PPE. Grant Johnson, Regional Safety Manager at Baker Concrete and Alain Delaire, Safety and Environment Technical Officer at Total E&P France provide testament to the everyday challenges faced in their role, the routines and practices in place to ensure the adoption and consistent use of relevant PPE, and how they manage co-worker relationships. Both have a long tenure with their respective companies and their passion for safety management and their team is apparent; team members have also been profiled to demonstrate the PPE they use to stay safe.

Sperian Protection’s goal is to provide relatable content to the PPE and safety audience on a global level. The video series is currently available to France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States and can be found on Sperian Protection’s YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/Sperianglobal

Sperian Protection is now part of Honeywell.
