RAE Systems Announces the Promotion of Rudy Mui to Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President

SAN JOSE, Calif. January 13, 2006 RAE Systems Inc. (AMEX: RAE), a leading global developer and manufacturer of rapidly-deployable, multi-sensor chemical and radiation detection monitors and networks for homeland security and industrial applications, today announced the appointment of Rudy Mui as chief operating officer (COO) and an executive vice president of RAE Systems Inc.

We are entering a new phase of growth and Mr. Muis experience will provide the global leadership to help us manage corporate efficiency, said Robert I. Chen, president and CEO of RAE Systems.

Mr. Mui joined the Company in December 2003, and has been the companys vice president of marketing since July 2004. Prior to joining the Company, he was vice president of marketing for Metara Incorporated from 2001 to 2003. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Mui was vice president of marketing for Crossbow Technology and from 1995 to 1999, director of strategic marketing for LAM Research Corporation.

Mr. Mui received his B.S. in Computer Engineering and B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Mr. Mui also has an M.B.A. and M.S. in electrical engineering from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, California.

Mr. Mui will serve as acting vice president of marketing of the Company until the company appoints a successor to such position.
