Warnings are highly intrusive, consisting of strong vibrations and audible alerts

A new product aims to reduce the amount of electrical-shock incidents in the workplace.

The wrist-worn PROXXI band alerts users to exposed conductors or circuit parts operating at 480 volts and above. The higher the voltage, the greater the warning distance.

Warnings are highly intrusive, consisting of strong vibrations and audible alerts. As long as nothing is shielding the electromagnetic field, the band will sense the presence of danger.

The band pairs with mobile phones using Bluetooth technology, and users are able to select voltage range. Mobile app technology allows users to view field strength in real time, change voltage detection modes, mute device alerts when permitted and set timers based on work-task duration.

PROXXI is based in Vancouver.
