Kelly Parascandalo has been named chief operations officer at Classic Fire + Life Safety, a new role at the company.

The decision to create the new position reflects “the company’s plans for growth and the strategy it has developed to embrace expansion while maintaining its commitment to service excellence, employee development and wellbeing, and a corporate culture based on its core values,” it said in a press release.

Parascandalo will provide leadership of the operations teams at Classic Fire + Life Safety, EDGE Fire Protection and Apex Fabrication, working with all levels of management to create improved productivity and operational efficiencies that will be implemented throughout the company’s diverse operations, it said.

“Our field staff, customer care, and health and safety teams, as well as the co-ordination of these teams across all branches, will play a critical role in our success,” said Francois Godin, CEO of Classic Fire + Life Safety. “Kelly’s strong operational knowledge is sure to be an asset as we continue to grow across Canada and unify the work of our teams and talents of our team members.”

Parascandalo has more than a decade of operational experience, managing large teams and implementing multi- year strategic operational plans for large organizations including Bell Canada and ADP payroll services.

“Kelly is an experienced leader,” said Godin. “She is passionate about operational excellence and team building. We are confident this new role will have a positive and sustained impact in how our business operates, and we are excited to welcome Kelly to the team.”

In April, Classic announced its expansion into Western Canada through new partnerships with Legacy Fire Protection, Photon Electric, and Integrated Fire Protection. These companies, based in Calgary and Kelowna, provide fire protection, life safety, and electrical services to clients across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.

“I am honoured to be Classic Fire + Life Safety’s first COO,” said Parascandalo. “I look forward to working with our teams and supporting our vision of protecting the property, inventory and, most importantly, the workforce of our clients.”
