PITTSBURGH In 1999, the Docking Station revolutionized the gas detection industry by automating the calibration, instrument diagnostics, record-keeping and recharging of portable gas monitors. As the pioneer of this ground-breaking technology, Industrial Scientific is pleased to take this concept even further by introducing the iNet Instrument Network a total cost of ownership program that eliminates
the most cost-intensive and time-consuming tasks involved with managing a gas monitor fleet.

Combining the two-way communication technology of Industrial Scientific’s DS2 Docking Station and the capabilities of the Internet, iNet continually monitors for conditions such as low, empty or expired calibration gas, marginal or failed sensors, and days since last
calibration. Weekly e-mail reports are sent on the status of the instrument fleet and immediate reports are sent when a problem is detected. A number of options are available to handle any service requirement based on an end-user’s individual needs. Should a malfunction occur, iNet automatically dispatches an on-site service
visit, replacement monitor or new part depending on the service program selected.

“We’re very excited to launch what is truly a complete gas monitor management solution,” said Garth Miller, Industrial Scientific Vice President of Customer Services. Miller has overseen the development of iNet and is certain that it will enhance the overall level of service offered by Industrial Scientific. “iNet takes the benefits of the Docking Station to the next level and beyond. When your gas detection
equipment is being monitored and serviced by the manufacturer, you can focus more resources toward your core business knowing that everything has been done to protect your employees from atmospheric hazards,” he
added.

A valuable time and cost-saving tool for any gas detection program, iNet’s automatic data downloading, storage and reporting features can simplify the process of complying with federal safety regulations. More importantly, having properly maintained and serviced gas detection equipment ensures less instrument downtime, enhanced worker safety and
decreased liabilities. Every iNet service program includes necessary hardware, replacement parts, installation, training, asset tracking by serial number and secure off-site data storage. Equipment upgrade options are also available.
