Advanced material technology conforms to the ear canal
for custom-like fit, extended comfort

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (May 27, 2003) The new Howard Leight SmartFit reusable earplug uses advanced Conforming Material Technology to adapt its original form to the unique shape of the individuals ear for exceptional comfort and a custom-like fit with an off-the-shelf product.

SmartFit earplugs feature new, heat-activated materials that sense the contours of the users ear canal and adjust their shape accordingly providing superb fit at an affordable price, said Bill Sokol, Hearing Protection Brand Manager, Bacou-Dalloz. Increased comfort will extend wear-time, improve compliance, and ultimately help to preserve workers hearing.

Once inside the ear, SmartFit warms up and takes on the shape of the surrounding ear canal. Unlike traditional earplugs, which may feel fine at first but can irritate over time, SmartFit is designed to feel better the longer its worn. In addition, its conforming fit means that one size is suitable for nearly all employees. When removed, SmartFit returns to its original shape ready to be used again.

Howard Leight, a division of Bacou-Dalloz, developed SmartFit as its newest reusable earplug. It has a noise reduction rating (NRR) of 25 for solid, reliable protection and is ideal in applications that require constant hearing protection over extended periods of time, such as manufacturing line operations, oil/petroleum refining, and mining.

SmartFits unique design features a flanged handle for easy insertion and removal. It also includes a detachable fabric cord that adapts to any application or user preference, and a HearPack storage case for long-term protection and use.
