Optometric Services Inc. (OSI), Canadas Largest Network of Optometrists, and Johnson and Johnson Vision Care (JJVC), manufacturers of Acuvue brand contact lenses, are proud to have been able to make a contribution to the project The Gift of Reading from the Literacy Foundation.
During the Reading is Cool promotion (September 1 to November 30, 2006), patients that purchased either 4, 8 or 12 boxes of Acuvue Brand Contact Lenses received a $20 gift-certificate redeemable at Chapters-Indigo-Coles bookstores. For each gift-certificate that was given, a portion was donated to the project The Gift of Reading from the Literacy Foundation, for an accumulated sum of more than $ 4,000.
The check was remitted at the Literacy Foundations offices on February 15, 2007. Since the beginning of the Reading is Cool Promotion, OSI and JJVC have given a total amount of more than $14 000 to the Literacy Foundation.
