Mississauga, Ont. January 10, 2006 Capital Safety Group Inc., the worlds leading manufacturer solely dedicated to the fall protection market, announces the acquisition of UCL (Unique Concepts Ltd), an international fall protection and confined space rescue equipment manufacturing company.
The acquisition of UCL, (a company based in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is expected to be completed in late January 2006, according to DBI-SALA Chief Executive Officer, Pat Velasco. With this merger, we will continue to fulfill Capital Safety Groups goals of operational excellence and outstanding responsiveness to our customers. As we continue to strengthen our position as both the Canadian and global leader in Fall Protection and Industrial Rescue, the acquisition allows for us to develop synergies between our market capabilities and UCLs technology strengths, states Don Galley, President Capital Safety Group Canada Ltd.
We look forward to now collaborating with what was once one of our competitors in the high-quality safety solutions market, said Jan Vetesnik, President of Unique Concepts Ltd. (UCL). Combining the two companies will create a broad international sales channel with more than 650 employees, giving us an even greater, one-stop resource for our customers, added Vetesnik.

On August 1, 1999, UCL was purchased by QCM Inc., and moved to a new 28,000 square-foot facility where it functioned as an international leader in confined space rescue systems and fall protection equipment.
