— Popular Bilsom earmuff brands now mount on hard hats, fold away for convenient storage, or come with neckband for use with face shields

Smithfield, RI Building on their popular noise blocking and sound management earmuff brands, Bilsom is introducing several new models to meet a wide range of specialty applications. Thunder(r), Leightning(r) and Clarity(tm) series earmuffs can now mount directly on hard hats, or fold away for convenience. Leightning is also available with a special neckband for use when other protective gear is being worn, such as face shields or visors. The new specialty application lines were unveiled at this year’s NSC show in New Orleans and will be available for distribution in January 2005.

The range of specialty earmuffs is designed to extend the benefits of these Bilsom brand products to workers in construction, public utilities, pulp and paper, forestry, and other industries where standard headband earmuffs may not be suitable. The helmet earmuffs come with snap-in adapters which allow them to fit most hard hat brands, and are height adjustable. The earmuffs fold down and ‘snap-in’ over the ears when protection is required, then can fold up onto the back of the helmet when not needed. Folding earmuffs can be easily stored in a tool box, and the entire line of earmuffs includes super-soft, snap-in ear cushions for extended wear, comfort and hygiene.

Bilsom’s Leightning noise-blocking earmuffs were recently redesigned to combine maximum protection and contemporary design with modern stereo headset-styled earcups. Leightning offers long-wearing comfort and durability in the most rugged environments and is available in multiple attenuation levels of 25, 27 and 30 NRR to allow users to choose the right level of protection for their application. The Leightning series will feature new patented Air Flow Control(tm) technology, providing more consistent attenuation, especially in low frequencies. Leightning helmet, folding and neckband earmuffs incorporate steel wire headbands for tough applications where less deformable metal is preferred.

Bilsom’s Thunder(r) is a series of noise-blocking earmuffs designed to provide top-of-the-line protection, comfort and economy in applications where dielectric construction is preferred. Made of tough, non-deformable plastic for the most demanding applications, Thunder earmuffs are also available in multiple attenuation levels to allow wearers to target protection, and will feature new Air Flow Control technology.

Clarity brand earmuffs are designed to provide advanced sound management. Clarity earmuffs feature a patented noise filtering technology that blocks out harmful noise while allowing the human voice and other important information to be heard, facilitating productivity and improving safety in environments where communication is essential. Incorporating a number of advanced comfort features to ensure increased worker compliance, Clarity earmuffs feature dielectric construction and multiple attenuation levels.
