Precautionary lockdown lifted on 15 Manitoba schools

SELKIRK, Man. – The lockdown placed on 15 schools in a community north of Winnipeg a day after they were closed due to online threats has been lifted.

Educators say the Lord Selkirk School Division and Sergeant Tommy Prince School reopened Tuesday but then were put in hold and secure mode as a precaution due to another threat.

The school division later lifted the lockdown and says students are safe. RCMP say three people have been arrested over the initial threats.

Kingley Brett William, who is 18, and a 16-year-old old boy are charged with uttering threats and an 18-year-old woman has not been charged.

Police have said there was threats of harm and death to certain people.
