
Call for nominations
ELIGIBILITY (Individual awards)
OHS Professional of the Year
All nominees must:
- be working as an OHS professional with a company whose operation is based in Canada
- show leadership and initiative, demonstrating a strong work ethic
- have tangible evidence of work done in 2022-2023 in pursuit of excellence.
Community Leader Award
All nominees must:
- be working as an OHS professional with a company whose operation is based in Canada
- be involved in industry associations, projects and/or initiatives
- have tangible evidence of work done to benefit community health and safety.
OHS Rising Star Award
All nominees must:
- be under the age of 40 as of Dec. 31, 2023
- possess characteristics such as: leadership, dedication, volunteerism and giving back
- have demonstrated excellence throughout a career dedicated to workplace health and safety.
OHS Lawyer of the Year
All nominees must:
- be a practicising lawyer in Canada and a member in good standing of their respective law society
- have made a difference in the world of health and safety, either through legislation or caselaw in 2022-2023
- show tangible evidence of how they have improved occupational health and safety.
Hall of Fame
All nominees must:
- have spent time working as an OHS professional with a company whose operation is based in Canada
- possess characteristics such as: leadership, dedication, volunteerism and giving back
- have demonstrated excellence throughout a career dedicated to workplace health and safety.
ELIGIBILITY (Business/team awards)
OHS Culture Award
All nominations must:
- showcase a positive change in health and safety at all business levels
- demonstrate a collective shift amongst leadership and employees towards OHS excellence
- have tangible evidence of work done in 2022-2023 in this regard.
Best Safety Communications Program
All nominations must:
- provide specific tactics of creative campaigns deployed within your company
- tell a compelling story of how implementation has helped to reduce injuries and save lives.
Best Use of Safety Technology
All nominations must:
- describe the specific technology program implemented, including timeframe and relevant data
- tell a compelling story of how implementation has helped to reduce injuries and save lives.
Best Hand Protection Program
All nominations must:
- describe the hand protection program in detail
- name all members of the team, including positions and duration of time spent at company
- have tangible evidence of work done in 2022-2023 in pursuit of excellence.
Psychologically Safe Workplace Award
All nominations must:
- describe the workplace mental health program in detail
- name all members of the team, including positions and duration of time spent at company
- have tangible evidence of work done in 2022-2023 in pursuit of excellence.
Best Ergonomics Program
All nominations must:
- describe the workplace mental health program in detail
- name all members of the team, including positions and duration of time spent at company
- have tangible evidence of work done in 2022-2023 in pursuit of excellence.
OHS Team of the Year
All nominations must:
- be working as a group of OHS professionals (and related positions) residing and employed in Canada
- name all members of the team, including positions and duration of time spent at company
- have tangible evidence of work done in 2022-2023 in pursuit of excellence.
