No injuries or spills after five cars of freight train derail in Toronto

TORONTO – CN Rail says nobody was injured when five cars of a freight train derailed in Toronto early Sunday morning.

Company spokesman Jonathan Abecassis says the train cars went off the tracks in Toronto’s east end.He says no dangerous goods were released from the train cars. Abecassis says the company is working with local emergency services.

Police say they were called to the derailment at about 2:40 a.m.

They say three of the train cars were on there side, and some were carrying hazardous materials, but no leak had been detected.
