(CP) — An Alberta company has been fined $60,000 as a result of a workplace injury that occurred in August 2017 in Regina.

The Saskatchewan government says Varsteel of Lethbridge was issued the fine after pleading guilty last month to one count under occupational health and safety regulations.

The charge related to failure to ensure that material or equipment is properly placed or stored so it does not constitute a hazard to workers.

The worker was hurt after being struck by two bundles of steel.
