Funding to enhance courtroom safety

HALIFAX — Nova Scotia plans to inject $2 million into courtrooms to beef up the safety level for all occupants.

The investment includes new or replacement closed-circuit cameras, access controls, alarms and other protective measures, notes a statement from Nova Scotia’s Department of Justice in Halifax. The improvements, announced on November 17, will take place at courthouses in Amherst, Antigonish, Bridgewater, Digby, Halifax, Kentville, Port Hawkesbury, Sydney, Truro and Yarmouth.
