Officers assaulted with bear spray

SASKATOON — Two police officers sustained minor injuries when they were assaulted with bear spray on June 14.

At about 1 am, members of the Saskatoon Police Service had stopped a group of people when one man retrieved a can of bear spray from his waistband and sprayed the two officers.

A 19-year-old man fled on foot, but was found at a residence a short time later, the police report in a statement. He was charged with carrying a weapon dangerous to the public peace, carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of assaulting a police officer and four counts of breach of undertaking.
