Funding to upgrade communications

HAUTE-ABOUJAGANE — The Government of New Brunswick is providing $150,000 in funding to the Haute-Aboujagane Fire Department to finalize installation of specialized communications equipment.

“The fire department’s current system does not have coverage in all areas that it is supposed to cover,” business minister Victor Boudreau says in a statement from New Brunswick’s Department of Local Government.

Specifically, the money will be used to install a communications tower, as well as to replace the ultra-high frequency radio system in the fire hall and vehicles with very high frequency (VHF) to enhance radio communications among emergency first responders.
