Rugged, powerful personal toxic gas monitor provides the features of an instrument for the price of a disposable detector

SUNNYVALE, Calif.December 1, 2003RAE Systems, Inc. (AMEX: RAE), a leading global developer and manufacturer of rapidly deployable, multi-sensor chemical detection monitors and networks for homeland security and industrial applications, today announced the launch of the ToxiRAE II. The ToxiRAE II is a single-gas personal monitor that provides continuous readouts of toxic gas concentrations at a price point that is competitive with many disposable detectors.

Unlike disposable products, the ToxiRAE II provides users control and ease-of-use. As a one-button product, the ToxiRAE II is simple to calibrate and allows users to accept the default alarms or to modify the alarms to meet their specific requirements. While disposable products are turned on once and remain on until their batteries die, users decide when and where to use the ToxiRAE II, and turn it on and off accordingly. Sensors and batteries carry a two-year warranty and are easily replaced in the field. The cost of the ToxiRAE II is about the same of many reduced feature disposable products, so users have the choice of renewing or disposing of it and starting out with a fresh, new monitor.

The ToxiRAE II has a large, easy-to-read LCD screen that provides a full featured, continuous digital display of a specific toxic gas concentration, STEL, TWA and Peak values along with high, low, TWA and STEL alarms. Users can select from a range of toxic gas sensorsincluding carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitric oxide, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen cyanide, ammonia, phosphine and phosgenemaking the ToxiRAE II a cost-effective, powerful product that provides measurements in the parts-per-million range.

With a durable, impact resistant carbon loaded ABS housing, and resistance to RFI interference and corrosion, the ToxiRAE II provides hands-free use and is small enough to be clipped onto a hardhat, shirt pocket, shoulder strap or belt, making it suitable for protection in a wide variety of industrial environments.
