Industrial Scientific Corporation Wins Tech 50 Awardfor Achievements in Advanced Manufacturing

PITTSBURGH, PA At its eighth annual Tech 50 Awards Ceremony yesterday, the Pittsburgh Technology Council recognized Industrial Scientific Corporation as one of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s top 10 companies for
achievements in Advanced Manufacturing. The Council honors the region’s leading technology-oriented companies, selecting the top 50 fastest growing and innovative companies competing in five categories.

The Pittsburgh Tech 50 is the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s premier event where 50 companies headquartered in the 13-county southwestern Pennsylvania region are recognized. Among other criteria, the Council
selection is based on sales growth, employee growth and retention, innovation, and market leadership. “The award is prestigious,” stated Industrial Scientific President and CEO Kent McElhattan in a company announcement, “especially when you consider that Southwestern Pennsylvania is home to over 6,600 corporations.”

Competitors in each of five industry categories advanced
manufacturing, information technology, life sciences, service providers and rising stars were scored and audited by the Pittsburgh office of PriceWaterhouse Coopers. The Advanced Manufacturing category includes companies that are largely automated and use a high degree of process controls, robotics, and other automated processes.
