— First and Only Instrument/Data Management System with Email Alert Feature

Smithfield, RI — The IQ Docking System from Biosystems, a Bacou-Dalloz company, is now available with an enhanced email alert function that can automatically notify users when instruments are due for calibration, when an instrument has failed a maintenance check, or when a gas cylinder on the system is running low. The IQ Docking System from Biosystems is the first and only instrument and data management system to date with this feature.

The IQ Docking System offers automated, walk-away maintenance of up to 10 Biosystems gas detectors, including the MultiVision(tm), PhD Lite, PhD5, and Cannonball3. The email update function eliminates the need for periodic status checks of these instruments by sending an automatic alert to specified users in the event of detector failure or process error. The IQ system will also send an email when it determines that an instrument is due for calibration.

Each IQ Docking Station(tm) contains a calibration gas port, charging power and a computer communications interface. The system also provides key instrument safeguards by ensuring that detectors are charged, configured and calibrated accurately for specified gases. It is capable of handling up to 12 different gas inputs. When a cylinder runs low, the system can now notify key personnel by e-mail, which can significantly reduce downtime.

The IQ System simplifies data management by providing a formal record of calibration information and a data trail for field exposure. IQ Database Manager software provides service record keeping, data retrieval, and reporting, all of which can be accessed over a computer network. Users can be specified at three separate password-protected levels, allowing managers to both control and share access to important data.
