BELLEVILLE, ON (February 2012) — Electrolab Limited officially releases the third edition of SafeStart, an international safety training program for employees and their families. Enhancements in this version, in addition to the proven SafeStart technology, will provide companies with a 50-90 per cent reduction of injuries in one to two years on- and off-the-job.

At the core of SafeStart Third Edition, are the new reality-based videos that significantly elevate both content and production quality.  They feature 16 stories and re-enactments of real people discussing their real injuries in a way that will allow employees to see themselves in similar situations—providing additional motivation to learn and more dramatically developing the awareness of how they get hurt.

An added SafeStart Story card makes the video exercises more interactive. This active participation improves the participant’s retention and understanding of the critical error reduction techniques that will keep them safe—at work, at home and on the road. The card also promotes and facilitates effective story-telling, another important component of the learning design.

Enhancements to the workbooks, leader’s guide, videos and presentation slides will also benefit the company’s certified SafeStart facilitators—making their instructor-led activities easier and more effective with less preparation.

2,000 companies in more than 40 countries around the world have leveraged SafeStart as a critical component of their overall safety system.  These Third Edition enhancements will further improve the effectiveness of their personal safety skills training component. Safety consultant Gary Higbee states, “A company simply can’t achieve and maintain world-class safety performance without incorporating personal safety skills training, and SafeStart Third Edition fills this need better than any other program in the world.”

The leadership group at Electrolab, including SafeStart author Larry Wilson, encourages all companies to investigate SafeStart Third Edition in their pursuit of world-class safety. They are requesting that safety professionals view the first part of the new Unit 1 video on the SafeStart.com website as an easy first step in this evaluation process and/or contact Electrolab for more information.

SafeStart Third Edition is available now from Electrolab in English with translations in process for an international rollout with their distribution partners; SafeTrain (Australia), ETS Safe (France), and DuPont Sustainable Solutions (Africa, Asia, Middle East, Latin America).
