Dan Timco Promoted to Global Director ofOperational Excellence at Industrial Scientific

PITTSBURGH, PA, USA — Industrial Scientific Corporation announced that Dan Timco has been promoted to the newly created position of Global Director of Operational Excellence effective March 1, 2008.
In his new role, Mr. Timco will be responsible for leading Industrial Scientifics global efforts to achieve business excellence. He will work to integrate best practices including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Design for Six Sigma to improve all areas of operations.
Industrial Scientific has made significant progress in implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, said Industrial Scientific President and COO Justin McElhattan. The formation of the Operational Excellence Team reinforces our commitment to deploying best practices globally to ensure highest quality and best customer service. The teams focus is to institutionalize standard business practices and create a culture of continuous improvement.
Since joining Industrial Scientific in 2004, Mr Timco has served in positions of increasing responsibility, including Quality Systems & Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Director of Supply Chain and, most recently, Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
Dan holds a BS degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Industrial Engineering and has multiple certifications including Lean Silver Certified Sensei, Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Design for Six Sigma Green Belt and Certified Quality Auditor
