Smithfield, RI — The new ToxiPRO(tm) Family of reusable single-sensor personal gas detectors from Biosystems offers an economical, compact and rugged alternative for detecting H2S, CO, O2 and many other gases. Ideal for industrial safety and fire service workers, the ToxiPRO line of detectors is classified for UL and cUL intrinsic safety certifications, and for use in Hazardous Locations Class I, Division 1, Groups A-D, where applicable. Global safety certifications are currently pending.

The ToxiPRO gas detector is fully serviceable, with a replaceable battery and sensor. A single lithium battery provides up to 9000 hours of operation, and all sensors have a 2-year warranty, giving the ToxiPRO a very low cost of ownership. The ToxiPRO provides real-time, peak, STEL, and TWA readings, as well as a 20-incident event logger and black box recorder. An optional datalogger is also available for the ToxiPRO.

ToxiPRO’s one-button automatic calibration feature ensures optimum accuracy. The ToxiPRO is housed in a rugged ABS case with an over-molded sure-grip rubber boot for added protection. With an IP rating of IPX5/IPX7, this housing protects the ToxiPRO against rain and even submersion, and also resists radio frequency interference (RFI).

The lightweight ToxiPRO detector incorporates a direct-reading, backlit display on the front of the instrument. The ToxiPRO offers visual and audible notification for Warning, Danger, STEL, and TWA alarms. A bright red visual alarm is positioned at the top and front of the instrument, and a multi-tone audible alarm registers at 90 decibels at 10 cm. An optional internal vibrating alarm is also available for high noise applications.

ToxiPRO detectors can be worn on a belt or neckstrap, in a shirt pocket, clipped to clothing, or inserted into the accessory slot of a hard hat.
