Stayin' Alive - Young Worker's Handbook

Stayin' Alive is a short, easy-to-read new book from OHS Canada designed to introduce young new workers to health and safety. It gives young people entering the work world a look at some of the key issues in health and safety -- and does so in practical terms and in their own language.

The message is traditional safety; but the presentation features the popular Internet cartoon character Rat Boy. This is a book young people will pick up, read -- and believe.

With 36 pages of content and a friendly, 6.5- by 8-inch format, the book features short articles on some of the major issues in health and safety. This is your chance to connect with young people on the important issue of health and safety -- your chance to establish credibility and start your new employees on the road to safe careers.

Skid Marks - Safe Driving Handbook

SKID MARKS is not a "how to drive" book. It is a book for people who are already good drivers, who already have considerable experience behind the wheel. It is also not a rehash of all the things that good and experienced drivers already know. Or of all the standard safe-driving advice that has little relation to the real world.

Instead, Skid Marks has dozens of very useful things that every good driver really ought to know, and none of the really obvious stuff that everyone already knows. Such as the following...

  • How do you stay right side up if you drive off the road? (See page 28.)
  • When do you have the worst chance of being rear-ended? (See page 38.)
  • Why should you never fill your gas tank right to the brim? (See page 14.)
  • What is the most common serious safety defect on vehicles on the road today? (See page 11.)
  • Who is most likely to hit you on the expressway? (See page 37.)
  • Where do you steer when you see a moose on the road? (See page 26.)

You will find these other topics included in Skid Marks

  • Driving in Fog
  • Anti-Lock Breaks
  • Black Ice
  • No Skidding
  • The S-Turn

And much, much more…
