Military charges Edmonton based warrant officer with sexual misconduct

EDMONTON – An army non-commissioned officer faces sexual misconduct and other charges involving a subordinate.

The military says the allegations took place at a base in Edmonton and in British Columbia in 2017.

The investigation was conducted by the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service.

One of the charges involves an allegation that a man sent a subordinate a sexual photo through an electronic device.

Warrant Officer Jarvis Malone of the 1 Service Battalion is charged under the National Defence Act with abuse of a subordinate, conduct prejudice to good order and discipline, and drunkenness.

The military says the case will proceed either through a summary trial or a court martial.
