Two charged after three bus drivers assaulted in Toronto and Hamilton

Police officers also allegedly assaulted in separate incidents

TORONTO (The Canadian Press) — Two people are facing charges following unrelated incidents involving assaults on three bus drivers in Toronto and one in Hamilton.

Police in Toronto say a 31-year-old man allegedly assaulted a bus driver on Sunday evening.

They say he then got off the bus, boarded another bus at the same intersection and allegedly assaulted that driver and a police officer during his arrest.

He’s charged with assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, assaulting a police officer, uttering threats and mischief.

Just before noon on Sunday, Hamilton officers responded to reports that a woman was refusing to pay and had spat on the driver were allegedly assaulted.

A 23-year-old woman is facing five assault charges, including three counts of assaulting a police officer.
