  1. Who should take the Diploma Course Series?
    1. OHS Canada Diploma courses are designed for:

    3. The courses are industry recognized by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and are part of a diploma course series in two universities.

  2. Why online courses?
    1. Courses have been designed for the active working adult.
    2. Courses are designed for you to complete when you can. There is no timeframe for completion, and you may take as long as you need.
    3. All materials are accessible from any computer with a dial up modem - no plug ins or bandwidth restrictions
    4. Allows for training on the fly - at work or home - and in 15 minute bytes
    5. Diploma courses are competency-based with online testing to ensure accountability (assessment records are accessible to employees and managers)
    6. Printable certificates are issued automatically upon successful completion of a course.

  3. How long does it take to complete one of the courses?
    1. Courses are designed to be completed in three weeks.
    2. Courses average 8 modules each.
    3. Modules are designed to be completed in less than 3 hours, however most students complete a module in 1 - 2 hours.
    4. Your completion will depend on prior knowledge or experience with the subject area, and how much time you devote to the course.
    5. The average student accesses their online course on 15 separate occasions.
    6. The average time a student spends online per session in a course is 30 minutes.

  4. Which of the Diploma Course Series courses prepare me for the BCRSP exam?
    1. The online courses most appropriate for BCRSP exam preparation are organizational behaviour and culture, risk assessment, incident causation and investigation, and occupational hygiene. Some background in OSHE management models, and at least introductory training in Environmental Management systems is also an asset.
    2. The OHS curriculum meets almost all of the Study Guide requirements of the BCRSP.

  5. Which courses provide me with BCRSP credit?
    1. Course Series CMPs are awarded for Emergency Planning, Risk Assessment, and Incident Causation & Investigation.
    2. The CMP Approval number is 05065. You can have your CMP awarded by downloading a form at www.bcrsp.ca. You will need your test results and certificate of completion from OHS Canada eLearning. CMP's are accrued by Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSPs) who are certified by the board of Canadian Registered Safety professionals.
    3. If you lack the minimum Certificate-level academic preparation for BCRSP, you may wish to consider the UNB CHSEP online Certificate program @ http://cel.unb.ca/prof_dev/hsep/.

  6. How do I get university credit for the courses?
    1. The OHS course curriculum can be mostly transferred to the UNB Certificate program through the Prior Learning Assessment option offered by UNB. These Prior Learning Assessments are done by the same curriculum experts that wrote the content.
